Willow Weaver Artist Website for Patrizia Sascor | Custom E-commerce Shop

Patrizia Sascor is an Italian willow weaving artist based in London who creates pieces that blend sculptural elegance with functional design.

Her website needed to showcase her sustainable craft while providing effective pathways for selling both her artistic one of a kind objects and her one to one weaving tuition. This custom artist portfolio and e-commerce website captures the essence of her work, inspired by Italian aesthetics and Japanese artistry while serving as a strategic and elevated business tool.

Website Challenges for a Willow Weaver

Before our collaboration, Patrizia faced several challenges with her online presence

  • Her previous website didn't effectively communicate the craftsmanship and sustainable values behind her willow weaving

  • There was no clear distinction between her functional and sculptural pieces, creating confusion for potential customers

  • Her one to one workshop tuition lacked a streamlined process and messaging, making it difficult for interested students to register

  • The website didn't adequately showcase the unique qualities of her handcrafted pieces or their connection to her sustainable principles

Custom Willow Weaver Artist Website Solution

Working closely with Patrizia, I designed a custom Squarespace website that balanced artistic presentation with practical functionality

Dual Sales Pathways - Created two distinct but interconnected customer journeys—one for those interested in purchasing her handcrafted pieces and another for those looking to attend her weaving workshops.

Sustainable Storytelling - Developed content that emphasises Patrizia's commitment to environmental principles and sustainable craftsmanship, connecting her pieces to a mindful lifestyle.

Artist Biography Integration - Crafted dedicated sections highlighting Patrizia's awards, exhibitions, and artistic background to establish credibility and context for her work.

Process Visualisation - Incorporated visual elements showcasing the willow weaving process, helping visitors understand the skill and time invested in each piece.

Collaborative Design Process

Our work together focused on leveraging Patrizia's existing visual assets while enhancing the strategic business elements of her online presence:

  • Conducted a comprehensive assessment of her current website to identify improvement opportunities

  • Provided strategic consulting to align the website with her artistic direction and business objectives

  • Implemented a streamlined e-commerce system optimised for both basketry and workshop bookings

  • Created a cohesive visual identity using her existing photography

  • Ensured mobile optimisation for seamless browsing across all devices

Website Results & Business Impact

The new website has transformed how Patrizia presents and sells her willow weaving art

  • Created clear pathways for customers interested in either purchasing artwork or booking workshops

  • Effectively communicated the sustainable and mindful values behind her creative practice

  • Established a professional online presence that reflects the quality of her willow weaving craftsmanship

  • Provided easy-to-use tools for Patrizia to update product listings and workshop schedules independently

After project completion, clients receive training for self-updates, so live website content may differ from my original design.
