“Absolutely brilliant results. A website more beautiful than I could have imagined with everything on it displayed clearly and concisely. Emma really took on board what I said and what I envisioned and conveyed this in digital form. Any question I had Emma was ready to answer and she made the whole process so enjoyable. I have sold out of many pieces, and since then have had a great reaction to the site with more clients getting in touch about potential collaborations.”

Project Background

Lulu Harrison is an innovative glass artist working with biomaterials to create new sustainable glass-making practices. As a recent graduate, she had a very basic Squarespace website that was not representing her multidisciplinary practice as an artist and materials researcher.

Storytelling product page layout for ecommerce ltd edition glass collections

WEBSITE GOALS:

  • A website that would show the breadth of Lulu’s exciting practice. Which included research, products and exhibition work.

  • Lulu expressed that she wanted visitors to be excited and learn more about her process.

  • To highlight and share stories from different activities within her business including her research, exhibitions and collaborative practice.

  • To have a website that elevated her practice from student to professional maker

  • To be able to sell her limited edition glassware collections as and when they were available.

ACTIONS TAKEN:

  • We broke down the different strands of the business and the target customer/audience and designed a site around these key areas.

  • Set up a shoppable e-commerce Collections page that allows Lulu to sell her high-value limited edition collections directly as and when she launches them.

  • Developed a story focussed design approach for her limited edition product collections with a well-structured product page layout that highlights the story of the making process, the people involved and the materials of each collection.

  • Beautiful exciting home page (landing page) with a video showing glass making

  • Process page storytelling the process behind the pieces and highlight research outputs

  • Mobile friendly design

  • Instagram feed implementation

  • SEO friendly - with keywords developed for on-page SEO

  • Projets page layout to tell stories of work with clear categories that can be easily updated by Lulu - with CSS breadcrumb navigation.

  • The site's overall design is elegant and engaging content with clear CTA’s to guide visitors, with simple navigation and beautiful images being centre stage.

After project completion, clients receive training for self-updates, so live website content may differ from my original design.
